Unconsciously, society is going through a mental reset in the aftermath of the corona restrictions. After two years of lockdowns and uncertainty, cancelling was the rule and reliability was not. Although a small percentage still seem stuck in fear, the corona-crisis is actually over. Unfortunately, the repercussions are not over. We have, perhaps unknowingly, been deeply mentally damaged, and now an irritable and disillusioned unrest pervades society. The consequence is that people are searching for change to compensate for their anger and unease. This manifests itself in many ways. On an international level, Russia invading Ukraine is the most disturbing example. Russia is completely breaking Ukraine, and has even done the unthinkable - attacked a nuclear power plant. Let this be the example of the reason why humans are not capable of using nuclear power. We have men making war all the time. There is no guarantee that the tens of thousands of years needed for the waste to break down will be attack-free.
On an individual level, people are breaking bridges left and right. They are giving up their hobby's, are investing in career changes and quitting their jobs, and cancelling appointments on a personal whim without thinking about repercussions for the group relying on them. People are anxious and angry, and are searching for change to "punish" who or what caused their anxiety/anger. I cannot say that I am any different. I quit swimming, which was my dearest hobby. I may go back, but I also may not. I am honestly impatient in my current work and yearn for higher levels. I am worried about the unrest simmering in the world. This could be the catalyst for the disaster that many have seen coming.
